After earning a degree in music, Carmen Chase decided to break the mold and dive headlong into a clowning and face painting business, knowing it would provide the income and flexibility she desired to mother and home school her two children, and still have time to assist her children's-pastor-husband with his ministry. After nearly a decade of painting and training others in the art, it dawned on her that face painting naturally provided the perfect opportunity to share God's love with each child. Thus About Face, her Gospel Face Painting training series, was born, and now painters across the globe in several languages are impacting their communities with her technique. She still plays the piano and sings, but she says nothing compares to the excitement of "changing your world one face at a time." Since her paintbrushes occasionally demand periods of rest, one will usually spy an engaging work of fiction or creamy square of dark chocolate in their place.
