FACE AND BODY ART EDUCATION

the world’s largest art library

Hello, my name is John Place. I was born and raised in Broward County, Florida. In High School, I excelled in television production and graphic design. After graduation, I pursued my passion and went to college to study Broadcasting and Television production. From there I was hired by Comcast as Commercial Editor and was later promoted to Producer at AT&T Media Services. In 2002, I started my own Production Company providing the area with affordable/quality cable advertising specializing in automotive ads. Eight years later I met an energetic and successful woman by the name Heather Banks of Silly Farm Supplies that wanted me to do a 1 hour video for face painting and the rest is history. 1 year later Heather came to me with an idea called FABATV.com. FABAtv is the ultimate in Face and Body art education. FABAtv is an internet based learning channel for everything face and body art, including Make Up artistry, Special Effects, business, and marketing classes as well. How could I say no to that!!In March of 2011, FABAtv launched, and in just one short year FABAtv reached over 2,000 subscribers and growing! I have produced videos with the biggest names in this industry and have made lots of new friends from around the world. Now, after countless hours of shooting and editing these hour long videos I in turn have been learning the techniques taught by these artistes without even really knowing I was learning. I produced one video for an artist named NIX Herrera last year for realistic airbrush lingerie, after that class I thought to myself "I can do that" so I spent hundreds of dollars to get all of the necessary tools (Airbrushes, compressor, paints etc.) and painted my girlfriend one night while watching NIX' video on my laptop.. The final piece came out great. I was very pleased and when I showed people photos, they were amazed and I felt proud of myself. That is when my love for body art started. It wasn’t until I did a class with FX and gore artist Pam Trent that I knew where my niche would be. There is something about the raw emotion that people have when they see realistic gore FX makeup out in the public. I have been posting photos of my work on my Facebook wall and have been getting response from people all around the world. It’s been a heck of a ride!
